A press conference of the Goa Cancer Society (GCS) was held on 18 December 2025 at GCS Panjim office at EDCON INCROCIO.

The conference commenced with a presentation on the activities of the Goa Cancer Society over the last two financial years, FY 2023–24 and FY 2024–25.
Addressing the media, Mr. Shrinivas Dempo stated that GCS has provided financial assistance to over 600 cancer patients during this period. Cancer screening programmes were conducted, benefiting more than 2,500 individuals.
He further informed that the Society has sponsored ₹30 lakh towards 10 cancer research projects.The researchers are mainly from BITS Pilani Goa & Goa Dental college & Hospital -Bambolim. Financial support has also been extended to terminally ill cancer patients at DILASA – IMA Ponda Charitable Trust.
In the area of education and awareness, GCS organized 8 Annual Lectures and 22 Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes. Additionally, the Society has fulfilled the wishes of 71 children suffering from cancer over the last few years, bringing hope and happiness to young patients and their families.
