Shrinivas V. Dempo is the Chairman of the Goa-based Dempo Group of Companies, which has diversified interests across industries including petroleum coke, shipbuilding, food processing, and real estate. Mr. Dempo has held prestigious positions including Chairman Western Region Confederation of Indian Industry, President AIMA, Honorary Vice Consul of Italy in Goa, President Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice President All India Football Federation, etc. He actively supports social initiatives in education, environment, and healthcare. Mr Dempo serves as the President of The Goa Cancer Society.
Dr.Suresh Shetye:- Honorary-Vice-President
Dr. Suresh Shetye, Vice President of the Goa Cancer Society, is a distinguished orthodontist with decades of experience in teaching and leadership. He has held key positions, including Dean of Goa Dental College, and was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indian Orthodontic Society in 2023.
Dr.Mahesh Naik-Honorary Secreatary
Dr. Mahesh R. Naik is a seasoned surgeon with 46 years of medical experience. He has served as a professor and consultant in prestigious institutions like Manipal Hospital Goa. A dedicated member of the Goa Cancer Society, Dr. Naik has been instrumental in organising cancer awareness and continuing medical education programmes. He serves as the Society’s Honorary Secretary.
Dr.Ramesh Bhonsle- Honorary–Treasurer
Dr. Ramesh Bhonsle, Treasurer of the Goa Cancer Society, has over 25 years of experience in dental research, including long-term epidemiological studies on oral cancer. A published researcher, he has also served as a dental consultant for two decades, contributing significantly to public health and cancer awareness.
Mr. Lion Nitin Maganlal
Lion Nitin Maganlal specialises in food and marine product exports. An active social contributor, he has supported education, blood donation, and housing initiatives. A dedicated Lion since 2000, he has received numerous accolades, including the International Leadership Medal. His philanthropic and leadership efforts extend to serving as a member of several social and civic organisations.
Mr. Manoj Mohan Caculo
Mr Manoj Mohan Caculo, an engineering graduate, leads a diversified business group with interests in automobiles, construction equipment, hospitality, and retail among others. He pioneered Goa’s retail revolution with the launch of Caculo Mall. Former President of the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Manoj is also a committed Rotarian. He has revitalised key social institutions Clube Tennis De Gaspar Dias and Panjim Gymkhana.
Dr. Sitakant Narayan Kamat-Ghanekar
Dr. Sitakant Narayan Kamat-Ghanekar is a veteran surgeon trained at Tata Memorial Centre and an advocate of yoga therapy. A life member of multiple medical associations, he has contributed extensively to health awareness and disaster management. Dr. Kamat-Ghanekar is also an author and speaker, with a focus on holistic well-being and community health initiatives.
Mrs. Pallavi Dempo
Mrs. Pallavi Dempo is an influential Goan educationist and philanthropist, deeply committed to enhancing educational opportunities in Goa. She serves as a trustee of the Dempo Charities Trust, which operates several prestigious educational institutions in Goa. Mrs. Dempo is also the Executive Director of Dempo Industries and the President of the Indo-German Educational & Cultural Society. She actively contributes to various community development initiatives and plays a significant role in shaping policies for women’s leadership.
Dr. K Deepak Murty
Dr. K Deepak Murty is a Consultant ENT specialist at Manipal Goa Hospital and a member of the Goa Cancer Society’s Governing Council. He contributes his expertise to cancer care and prevention efforts in Goa, advancing healthcare initiatives through his practice and active involvement in health-related organisations.
Dr. Shekhar Salkar
Dr. Shekhar Salkar is a renowned oncologist with a strong focus on anti-tobacco advocacy. He has played a key role in Goa’s fight against tobacco-related diseases and cancer, founding the first tobacco cessation clinic in the state. A past president of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Past-President of Association of Surgeons of India Goa chapter, Dr. Salkar has been instrumental in drafting legislation to curb tobacco use. This resulted in a drop of oral cancer incidence in Goa, which is a significant achievement. He continues to lead various public health initiatives and is a prominent figure in cancer care and research in Goa.
Dr. Mrs. Pramod D. Salgaocar
Dr. Pramod D. Salgaocar is an accomplished medical professional, having topped several exams, including at Goa Medical College and Bombay University. She has held key political positions, including President of the Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress and Vice President of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee. A director at Geno Pharmaceuticals, she has also served the community through free clinics, social initiatives, Rotary International, and was the first Woman President of IMA Goa. Dr. Salgaocar actively contributes to the Goa Cancer Society and is dedicated to women’s empowerment, healthcare, and anti-tobacco campaigns.
Prof. Bhaskar Nayak
Prof. Bhaskar Nayak has dedicated over four decades to education, serving as Principal of Saraswat College and Government College Quepem. As Director of Higher Education in Goa, he contributed to shaping educational policies. Currently an advisor to V.M. Salgaocar Corporation, Prof. Nayak continues to offer his expertise in career counselling and educational book writing, significantly impacting Goa’s educational landscape.

Shri. Subhash Bhaskar Velingkar
Subhash Velingkar, with 40 years in education, retired as Principal of Vidya Prabodhini Higher Secondary School, and has won the Ideal Teacher Award at State Level as well as National Level. He has been a key advocate for Konkani-Marathi medium education and has led statewide educational and social agitations. As a Trustee of multiple trusts and organisations, he continues to support community welfare and education in Goa.

Sandip Naik is a successful entrepreneur with interests in plastics, logistics, and polymers, managing manufacturing units across India. He has been involved with Matruchhaya NGO for over 25 years, contributing to various community welfare projects and promoting social causes. His leadership in business and social initiatives benefits multiple sectors.
